ARTS EDUCATION

Experiences and creative learning through arts is critical to student achievement and success. Creative professional development for teachers, inspiration through master classes with local talent and field trips to see professional arts in Denver's world-class venues, these opportunities foster creativity, innovation and student engagement.

We are committed to supporting quality arts opportunities for Denver Public School students and staff through our own programming and funding opportunities with local partners.

Our Programs

Chance to Dance

We host Chance to Dance annually with Denver Public Schools to give students access to experience dance through many different lenses. From master classes and performances across genres of dance - Hip Hop, Hula, Breaking, Irish Step, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Aerial, etc. - to learning the more technical side of dance with choreography and stage lighting workshops and industry panels.

Teacher Creative Development Fund

We partner with Think360 Arts to offer a limited number of scholarships and workshops in creative professional development for Denver Public School teachers and administrators.

Cultural Field Trip Fund

This fund helps cover transportation costs that might prevent students from being able to participate in culture – from the visual arts to dance and music. Teachers can submit a simple application requesting support from the fund by contacting DPS Project Specialist Carmela Jaquez at carmela_jaquez@dpsk12.org.
