First Friday Art Walk stretches out to Cheltenham Elementary School on West Colfax Ave this October as over 25 large, museum-level murals painted by world-renown artists premiere as the first Cheltenham Elementary Art Walk on October 5, 2018, 5pm-7pm.
The school's free art walk will include a tour of stunning mural work on the school's outdoor walls, with live music, mocktail stations and food trucks as visitors tour and admire artworks with friends and family. Cheltenham's own students will double as docents and teach visitors the meanings and feelings about their new murals and the artists. All proceeds will benefit Cheltenham Elementary School and their students.
Murals at Cheltenham were painted by: Los Angeles-based celebrity artist Shepard Fairey (Obama "Hope" illustrator), Trek 6 (Miami), Luis Berros (Miami), Amanda Valdes (Miami), Otto Schade (Chile), Bikismo (Puerto Rico), Birdo (Toronto), Jazz Guetta (Los Angeles), FL Mingo (Miami), Dean McKeever (Boston), Kevin Ledo (Montreal), FinDAC (London), Word to Mother (London), Eric Skotnes (Los Angeles), Dean Zeus Colman (London), Dale Grimshaw (London), Santiago Rubino (Argentina/Miami), Patrick Kane McGregor (Denver).
The RAW Project is supported by the City of Denver Urban Arts Funds, Sunstate Rentals, Meininger Art Supplies, Behr, Kobra Paint, Denver Tool Library, Cheltenham Elementary faculty, and the project's private donors and local hospitality sponsors.
