Free Dedication and Reception for 'Bridge" by Stephen Shachtman

Join the Denver Public Art Program, District 2 Councilwoman Jeanne Faatz, and artist Stephen Shachtman for a dedication and reception for the collection's latest piece, "Bridge," on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 4:30pm at S. Sheridan and Lehigh Street.

A reception and conversation with the artist will immediately follow the dedication at the Doghouse Tavern at 3100 S. Sheridan and Bear Creek Trail. The event is free and open to the public, please RSVP to amanda.renaud@denvergov.org.

"Bridge" is the first piece of public art in District 2. This contemporary sculpture was recently installed on the grassy median at S. Sheridan Blvd. and Lehigh St. "Bridge" stands at 15 feet on two geometric pillars, built from steel sub-frames sheathed in Cor-Ten steel, connected by a bridge section of black granite and laminated plate glass. The work honors and respects the neighboring community of Denver District #2 and the adjacent Ft. Logan National Cemetery, while acting as a visual gateway for the area.
