OUR VENUES

Chances are you’ve had some good times at Denver’s world-famous entertainment venues. DAV manages several of the area’s most renowned facilities including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center, Denver Coliseum and McNichols Civic Center Building. And new to the portfolio, DAV is redeveloping the former theatre on the Loretto Heights campus.

Our agency operates a social-cultural enterprise model that reinvests proceeds from events at these iconic venues into venue operation and maintenance, arts programs, community grants and free cultural amenities for Denver’s residents.

We hope every guest walks away knowing their visit was meaningful — that they are part of a mission to protect our iconic venues and to enrich Denver’s cultural and artistic landscape for all.

LORETTO HEIGHTS

DAV plans to create a new cultural hub for southwest Denver as part of the Loretto Heights Area Plan to redevelop the 72-acre historic campus. Our focus is on a parcel of the new mixed-use development that includes the historic theatre and former library. This project will broaden access to the arts across Denver, attract and welcome diverse audiences and support small arts organizations needing performance and rehearsal space.

Union Presence

Denver Arts & Venues has a contract to provide stagehand services through ASM Global, which in turn has in place a longstanding, years-long Collective Bargaining Agreement between ASM Global and the Denver Theatrical Stage, Film, & Exhibition Employees’ Union (IATSE Local 7).

Promoters and presenters have long relied on the expertise and labor provided to them, at their request and as a service by DAV, to present shows at the Colorado Convention Center, Denver Coliseum, Denver Performing Arts Complex and Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We acknowledge that the land which the Denver Public Art Collection, our venues and programs occupy – land where we stand, live, work and learn – is the traditional territory of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho Peoples. We also recognize the 48 contemporary tribal nations that are historically tied to the lands that make up the state of Colorado. Our nation was founded upon and continues to enact exclusions and erasures of Indigenous Peoples. May this acknowledgement demonstrate a commitment to dismantling ongoing legacies of oppression and inequities, as we intentionally honor and celebrate the Indigenous communities in our city and express our gratitude for their ongoing and significant contributions.

Let’s not forget that this land was theirs long before we made it ours.
