SOCIAL MEDIA CONTRACTOR APPLICATION
Denver Arts & Venues is seeking three Social Media Contractors to join our marketing team, helping our agency support the arts community here in the Mile High City.
What You’ll Do
Denver Arts & Venues is seeking three (3) Social Media Contractors. Under the direction of the Digital Marketing Coordinator, these positions be responsible for capturing and editing photo and video content at our events and venues for online use, as well as assisting with social media, website and email strategy and posting. Two (2) contractors will be focused on covering the concert season at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre and one (1) contractor will be focused on Arts Marketing (which may include capturing content at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, for the Denver Public Art Program, etc.).

Responsibilities
Denver Arts & Venues is seeking one Arts Marketing Social Media Contractor and two Red Rocks Social Media Contractors.
Arts Marketing Social Media Contractor:
- Collaborates on outlining, shooting, editing and publishing short-form storytelling videos for social media, website, and email distribution.
- Captures, edits, and prepares photo and video content at Denver Arts & Venues-supported cultural events in the Denver area for online publishing.
- Assists with brainstorming and creating additional posts for Denver Arts & Venues-owned social media channels.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Red Rocks Social Media Contractor:
- Captures, edits, and prepares photo and video content at 35-40 events at Red Rocks Amphitheatre throughout the concert season (March-November), including real-time posting and post-event content delivery for later use and utilizing both cell phone and professional camera equipment.
- Assists with creation of other photography and short-form video content for social media, newsletter, and website publishing as needed.
- Contributes to brainstorming and creating additional posts for Denver Arts & Venues-owned social media channels.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Candidate will be expected have the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
- Understanding of and comfort with social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Experience creating professional-level social media content (photo and video).
- Understanding of social media analytics, trends, and audiences.
- Sense of storytelling and understanding of brand identity with the ability to tailor content to multiple voices.
- Demonstrates understanding of professional social media posting practices with the ability to exercise good judgement constructing real-time posts.
- A mobile phone (2023 or later preferred) with social media apps, plus a personal Facebook account to access our Facebook pages.
- Comfort with camera operation (DAV to provide professional camera equipment as needed, or can use own subject to DAV approval).
- Basic photo and video editing skills using Adobe Premiere, Adobe Lightroom Canva, iMovie, CapCut, on-device editing or similar tools.
- Ability to use with Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs) and social media scheduling software (Agorapulse).
- Capability to handle multiple projects and willingness to meet short deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail plus writing, proofreading, grammar, and spelling skills.
- Professional conduct (written and oral communication, on site at events) with partners and collaborators, including artists, promoters, staff, and fans.
- Quickly and capably responds to phone and email communications.
- Reliable transportation.
Payment rate for these positions is $35 per hour.
Required Minimum Qualifications
We understand that your time is valuable, so please do not apply unless you meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional social media, digital marketing, or content creation experience.
- Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
- Availability Requirement: Some night, weekend, and holiday availability may be required, sometimes at the last minute.
Contractors will be required to carry the standard types of insurance covering commercial general liability, business auto and worker's compensation, and may be required to furnish a Certificate of Good Standing from the Colorado Secretary of State's Office if they are corporations or a limited liability company.
Location
This position will be our boots on the ground at events at Denver Arts & Venues facilities (Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Denver Coliseum, Colorado Convention Center, McNichols Civic Center Building) as well as other locations all across the Denver metropolitan area to support our arts funding and cultural programs.
Contractor must provide their own transportation – this includes to and from venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO. As a contracted position, we cannot reimburse for miles driven or incidentals like food. Parking expenses may be reimbursed at cost with sufficient documentation provided.
